Biography

Christine works with Associate Professor Elizabeth Algar in the Genetics Molecular Pathology laboratory at the Centre for Cancer Research, Hudson Institute of Medical Research. She is involved in establishing a diagnostic platform for the molecular profiling of childhood brain tumours. Christine completed her Bachelor of Science with Honors at the John Curtin School of Medical Research at the Australian National University and went on to earn her PhD at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, where she studied innate immune signaling. Following her doctorate, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio, USA, for postdoctoral training under Professors Bryan Williams and Ganes Sen, where she focused on the role of interferon signaling in various projects. In 2014, Christine began working in Dr. Daniel Gough's STAT3 Cancer Biology laboratory at the Hudson Institute, investigating the role of STAT3 in childhood brain tumours. Her research interests contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in research.
