Biography

Christoph Ann is a distinguished professor specializing in Corporate Intellectual Property Law at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He graduated from law schools in Germany and the United States, notably Duke Law. Since 2003, he has held the Chair in Intellectual Property at TUM's School of Management, which is the oldest and largest of its kind in the German-speaking world. Ann has a profound interest in the intellectual property landscape of Africa and has contributed significantly to the field through his publications, including seven books and over 170 articles in law reviews. His contributions include one of the leading treatises on patent law in the German-speaking world. In addition to his academic career, Ann served as an IP judge on the Regional Court Mannheim and has been nominated to Germany's Federal Judges' selection committee. He has taught at various prestigious universities globally and has acted as an arbitrator in numerous cases. Recently, he has been awarded a Research Fellowship at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study and has been involved with ethics councils in Bavaria.
