Biography

Christophe Céleste is a well-known figure within the faculty community for having held various roles. He currently serves as a clinical teacher in equine surgery at CHUV. A graduate of the National Veterinary School, Food and Agriculture of Nantes, France, he immigrated to Quebec 25 years ago. He holds a master's degree in veterinary clinical sciences and a Ph.D. in veterinary biomedical science from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Montreal. Specializing in equine medicine and surgery, he has completed a residency in veterinary applied sciences and holds a specialized diploma in large animal surgery. He is a diplomat of the European and American Colleges of Veterinary Surgeons. Throughout his career, he has been passionate about teaching, sharing his knowledge with undergraduate and graduate students. He has been a professor and researcher at various institutions, including the University of Pretoria, Laval University, and the FMV. His research has been published in renowned scientific journals. He has also engaged in entrepreneurship, owning two veterinary establishments in Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean from 2014 to 2023, gaining solid business administration and management experience. In his new role, Dr. Céleste will play an active role in the deployment of the PDFMV, training future veterinarians, and advancing research collaborations.
