Biography

Christophe Grova is a full Professor in the Department of Physics at Concordia University and is actively involved in research at the Concordia School of Health and the PERFORM Centre. He leads The Multimodal Functional Imaging Laboratory, which focuses on multimodal data fusion to investigate brain mechanisms in both healthy conditions and during epileptic activity. Grova’s research encompasses the integration of advanced neuroimaging techniques including ElectroEncephalography (EEG), MagnetoEncephalography (MEG), functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), and functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS). His investigations aim to characterize brain responses associated with epilepsy and sleep, emphasizing the connection between neurovascular coupling and neuronal activity. Grova has been affiliated with the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill University since 2008, and he actively collaborates with clinicians and methodologists to advance understanding of brain functionality. He is known for developing software packages such as MEM for EEG/MEG source localization and NIRSTORM for fNIRS data analysis. His significant contributions to the field are demonstrated through numerous publications in high-impact journals, making him a respected figure in neuroimaging and epilepsy research.
