Chris Bain is a specialist anaesthetist and lecturer in the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at The Alfred Hospital and Monash University. He is also a council member of the Victorian Consultative Council on Anaesthetic Mortality and Morbidity and coordinates the Monash University Master of Medicine in Perioperative Medicine course. His current research focuses on perioperative genomics and aims to improve perioperative care through genomic technology. This research area is funded by an ANZCA project grant, and he collaborates closely with the Genomics Systems Biology Laboratory at the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute. He has published works in this evolving field of study as well.
