Dr. Christopher Bavitz

Biography

Christopher T. Bavitz is a Clinical Professor of Law and Vice Dean for Experiential Clinical Education at the University of Geneva, where he also serves as the Managing Director of the Cyberlaw Clinic at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School. His teaching encompasses courses such as Counseling Legal Strategy in the Digital Age, and he actively oversees the Cyberlaw Clinic, which focuses on projects involving copyright, free speech, advising startups, and the use of technology to support access to justice. Bavitz's research interests at the Berkman Klein Center primarily revolve around intermediary liability, ownership regimes for online content, and the regulatory, ethical, and governance issues associated with algorithms, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. He contributes to various initiatives that bridge the gap between law and technology.
