Biography

Christopher Buckingham is an award-winning teacher and Senior Teaching Fellow at the Winchester School of Art, part of the University of Southampton. He teaches research methodologies and methods, focusing particularly on Global Advertising and Branding for the Master’s program. Buckingham played a pivotal role in developing the undergraduate program in Business Games and delivers various business modules aimed at the creative industries. His extensive experience in crowdfunding spans over 12 years, during which he ran a consultancy named Minivation that helped raise £150 million for a variety of projects across different sectors. As an entrepreneur, investor, mentor, and author, he has taught at universities in the UK and Europe, contributing to the fields of entrepreneurship and crowdfunding. He is also known for his work in developing entrepreneurial cognition through games and has a strong interest in serious (educational) games. His dedication to teaching and research has been recognized through multiple awards including the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship in 2015 and the Vice-Chancellor's Awards in 2021, along with a Staff Achievement Award in 2022 and being named a CMBE Fellow and Business Commercialisation Fellow in 2022.
