Biography

Christopher Collier received his BASc and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia Okanagan in 2011 and 2016, respectively. He has received several accolades including the Killam Doctoral Scholarship and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) awards at various levels. Between 2016 and 2021, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Guelph, leading the Collier Research Group where cutting-edge research in applied optics was conducted. In July 2021, he joined the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus as an Assistant Professor and has since advanced to Associate Professor. Focused on innovative microfluidic spectroscopy technologies, Dr. Collier's research is published in high-impact journals and he has secured funding from various sources including NSERC and the Canada Foundation for Innovation. His research group specializes in fields such as Terahertz Spectroscopy, Spectral Imaging, and Microfluidic Systems, contributing significantly to advancements in biomedical engineering and diagnostics.
