Dr. Christopher Dermarkarian

Biography

Christopher Robert Dermarkarian is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Duke University, focusing on oculoplastic care. He completed his undergraduate training at Duke University and is dedicated to listening to patients and ensuring their concerns are addressed. His clinical interests are wide-ranging, including the medical and surgical management of eyelid disorders such as dermatochalasis, ptosis, entropion, and ectropion, as well as surgical interventions for eyelid tumors and reconstruction following Mohs surgery. He is also involved in thyroid eye disease management, orbital inflammation, trauma, and tumors, and he addresses anophthalmic socket issues and lacrimal drainage dysfunction. His pediatric care specializations address conditions such as ptosis and congenital malformations. Dermarkarian is heavily engaged in research concerning eyelid and orbital cancers, aiming to improve treatment outcomes for these conditions.
