Biography

Christopher Gore is a Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he also serves as the Graduate Program Director for Public Policy Administration (MA). He holds a PhD in Political Science and Environmental Studies from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences from the University of Guelph. Gore has served as Department Chair from July 2016 to July 2020 and as the Undergraduate Program Director from 2013 to 2016. His research primarily focuses on comparative urban environmental politics, global environmental governance, and urban environmental policymaking, with particular emphasis on infrastructure and natural resources in sub-Saharan Africa and North America. Notable recognitions include the Slobodan Drakulic Cross-Disciplinary Teaching Award for excellence in teaching and the Norton Long Young Scholar Award from the American Political Science Association. He has led and collaborated on multiple externally funded research projects and teaches courses in international politics, urban governance, local government, and comparative policy.
