Biography

Christopher Hare is an Associate Professor and Law Fellow at Somerville College. He completed his undergraduate studies at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he was part of a cohort that spent a year at the University of Poitiers, France. He furthered his education with a Master of Laws (LLM) at Harvard Law School and subsequently read for the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) at Brasenose College. Before joining Somerville College, Christopher practised as a barrister at 3 Verulam Buildings, Gray's Inn, and then moved on to a fellowship and lectureship at Jesus College, Cambridge. He also spent seven years in New Zealand as a Senior Lecturer in the Law Faculty at the University of Auckland. His teaching and research interests span the fields of law obligations and corporate commercial law, with a particular focus on domestic and international banking law, corporate finance, and shareholder remedies.
