Chris Heslinga is an Assistant Teaching Professor and the Director of the Law Centre at the University of Victoria. His work focuses on areas of clinical legal education, poverty law, human rights law, residential tenancy law, employment law, and administrative law. Prior to his tenure at UVic, he was involved with the University of British Columbia's Law Students' Legal Advice Program, where he supervised students handling civil files and taught the 'LSLAP Credit' Law 491 course. In addition, he had experience as a supervising lawyer at UBC's Indigenous Community Legal Clinic and served as the Acting Academic Director. He has also represented clients before the Mental Health Review Board as part of the Community Legal Assistance Society's roster of lawyers. Heslinga earned his Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2012 and his Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Social Science from the University of Western Ontario in 2009.
