Christopher Kovacs is a University Research Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland, specializing in Endocrinology and Metabolism. He earned his M.D. from Queen’s University and has completed a clinical fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Alberta. With over two decades of experience, Kovacs's clinical practice centers on the treatment of osteoporosis and disorders of bone metabolism. His research delves into the adaptations of calcium and bone metabolism during reproduction and fetal development. Kovacs has received numerous accolades, including the Gold Medal for Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and multiple Young Investigator Awards from prestigious societies. He has served on editorial boards of notable journals and has been involved in grant review committees at national and international levels, reflecting his extensive contributions to the field.
