Biography

Christopher Moore is the Adam Margaret Korn Professor of Brain Science and Associate Director at the Carney Institute for Brain Science at Brown University. His research laboratory explores neocortical dynamics and seeks to understand the significance of these dynamics for perception. With a focus on mechanisms that generate these dynamics, his current work involves testing computational hypotheses regarding the origins of neocortical oscillations and investigating the role of non-neuronal systems, such as vasculature, in information processing. To address these questions, Moore’s work integrates behavior, optogenetics, electrophysiology, and imaging techniques. He teaches courses on mechanisms of neural dynamics, neural dynamics, and advanced systems neuroscience, contributing to the academic foundation of the field at Brown University.
