Biography

Christopher Moore is an Emeritus Dean at Boston University's College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College, where he has made significant contributions in the field of Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences. With a PhD from Purdue University, he has over 22 years of experience as an academic researcher, having held positions at prestigious institutions including Wichita State University and the University of Washington. He was a Scientific Program Manager at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and administered research programs focusing on vision, audition, tinnitus, balance, and communication disorders. His work at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) included overseeing research applications related to speech, language, voice, swallowing, and sensory modalities. Moore's expertise encompasses physiologic foundations of speech production, motor control, and the acoustic processing of speech signals. His research, supported by over $5 million in federal funding, has led to over a hundred publications in high-impact journals such as the Journal of Neurophysiology and the Journal of Speech-Language-Hearing Research. He is a recognized Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and has served on numerous grant review panels. Moore is actively involved in mentoring and consulting on research development and grant writing. His dedication to advancing the field of communication sciences is evident in his extensive academic and research accomplishments.
