Dr. Christopher Neilson

Biography

Christopher Neilson is a Professor of Economics at Yale University, with a research focus on applied microeconomics, specifically the study of education markets and policies that promote equitable opportunities for human capital accumulation. His work examines how government policy impacts students, families, and education providers, utilizing methodologies from industrial organization, labor economics, and development economics. Neilson collaborates closely with governments, particularly in Latin America, to leverage data and existing evidence to design, evaluate, and implement effective education policies. In 2018, he founded ConsiliumBots, an NGO that serves as an incubator for education ideas, which has developed innovative tools that have helped over 2 million families across 7 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
