Biography

Christopher C. Nicholls holds the W. Geoff Beattie Chair in Corporate Law and is the Director of Business Law at Western Law, Western University. He is also the Co-Director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Financial Innovation and Risk Management. Nicholls has been recognized as a Western University Faculty Scholar and received the Canada-U.S. Fulbright Scholar award. He has held visiting professorships and scholar positions at prestigious institutions including Harvard Law School, Yale Law School, and Stanford Law School. His previous roles include serving as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Canadian Business Law Journal and as an Associate Editor for Corporate Finance. He has contributed to major regulatory reforms in Canada and was the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada from 2016 to 2022. Nicholson has authored several books and numerous articles focused on corporate law, securities regulation, and financial institutions, contributing to fields that have seen his work cited in Canadian securities commissions and courts.
