Biography

My lab researches the link between biodiversity conservation and human society, focusing on the effects of overexploitation of natural resources and quantifying the unique benefits wildlife provide for human health and food security. We aim to assist governments in making informed conservation decisions. Much of my work is interdisciplinary, covering topics such as ecology, conservation, biogeography, decision science, and social science, and we strive to make our research accessible to both the scientific community and the general public. Our papers have been published in high-quality peer-reviewed scientific journals like Nature Ecology & Evolution and Global Change Biology, and our timely work has been featured in prominent media outlets including The Guardian and Scientific American, influencing national and global environmental policy. I welcome inquiries from those interested in joining my lab or asking questions.
