Biography

Christopher Sanford, MD, MPH, DTM&H, is an Associate Professor Emeritus in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Washington. He is the Director of the Travel Clinic at UW Northgate Neighborhood Clinic and has served as the Director of the UW Department of Family Medicine Global Health Fellowship. With extensive experience in family travel medicine, Sanford is also a faculty member of the UW Family Medicine Residency. He is the lead editor of the 'Travel Tropical Medicine Manual, 5th Edition' published by Elsevier in 2016 and has contributed to professional education in tropical medicine through a diploma program conducted in East Africa. His research interests encompass travel medicine, medical education in high- and low-resource settings, and disaster medicine.
