Biography

Christopher Stuart Taylor is an Associate Professor and the Associate Vice-President of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism at the University of Waterloo. He earned his PhD from Western University, specializing in History with a focus on Migration and Ethnic Relations. In his administrative roles, Dr. Taylor has served as the Confronting Anti-Black Racism Advisor within the University’s Equity Office, and has acted as the Black Equity Strategist and Anti-Racism Advisor for the Faculty of Arts. He is a facilitator for the City of Toronto’s Confronting Anti-Black Racism Unit and works as an EDI-R consultant. His book, "Flying Fish Great White North: Autonomous Migration of Black Barbadians," was published by Fernwood Publishing. Dr. Taylor has also held several roles in the Ontario Public Service, including Policy Coordinator, Diversity Inclusion Coordinator, Senior Policy Advisor, and Manager of the Social Justice & Change Cluster at Ontario Correctional Services College.
