Biography

Christopher Waldo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Classics at the University of Washington. He earned his Ph.D. in Classics from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2019, and his M.A. in Greek from the same institution in 2014. He completed his B.A. in Greek and Latin at the University of Vermont in 2011. His research focuses on Drama, Greek Literature, Poetry, and Poetics, with particular interests in reception studies, race, and ethnicity. Waldo is recognized for his commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices, serving as Co-Chair of the Asian American Classical Caucus. He is currently completing a book manuscript that examines the reception of the classical tradition within Asian American literature.
