Biography

Christopher Wickert is a Full Professor and Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He also serves as the Research Director of the VU Business & Society Knowledge Hub. His research focuses on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and corporate sustainability, particularly the relationship between business and society, and the integration of management theory. Christopher completed his PhD in Management at the University of Lausanne in 2013 and has since been actively involved in teaching and research at various prestigious institutions including the University of Zurich, the University of St. Gallen, and IESE Business School in Barcelona. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a consultant for the United Nations Global Compact Office in New York. His work examines the implementation of CSR practices across different firm sizes, the evolution of CSR standards, and the challenges professionals face in promoting CSR within organizations. Christopher has published extensively in top journals, authored a book through Cambridge University Press, and is involved in various research projects aimed at enhancing CSR initiatives. He is also the General Editor of the Journal of Management Studies and has received grants from institutions such as the Dutch National Science Foundation for his research efforts.
