Chris joined the faculty in 2024. Prior to moving to the University of New Brunswick, he served as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar and Assistant Project Scientist at the University of California, Davis. His research takes an interdisciplinary approach by leveraging remote sensing and ecophysiology to understand plant ecosystem response to environmental climate change. He employs remote sensing techniques at various spatial scales including leaf, canopy, drone, and satellite, as well as temporal scales such as short-term stress responses (heat, drought, disease), phenology, and intra- to inter-annual variation. Chris aims to advance techniques for ecosystem monitoring and assessment, with applications in high-throughput phenotyping for forestry and agriculture.
