Christopher Young is a Professor of Modern and Medieval German Studies at the University of Cambridge, where he serves as the Head of the School of Arts and Humanities and Director of the Cambridge AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership. His primary teaching and research interests focus on medieval German literature, cultural history, and sport in modern Europe, particularly in Germany. He has been a Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Cologne and a Permanent Visiting Fellow at the Friedrich Schlegel Graduate School for Literary Studies at FU Berlin from 2010 to 2012. He is also the Co-Director of a collaborative project on Sport and the Cold War with Robert Edelman from UC San Diego, supported by the Woodrow Wilson Center Scholars and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
