Dr. Christos Kyriakopoulos

Biography

Christos Kyriakopoulos, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, specializing in hematology and medical oncology, with a focus on palliative care and genitourinary cancers, particularly prostate cancer. He completed his medical degree at Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, followed by residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York. He then pursued a clinical fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a research fellowship in Experimental Therapeutics at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Kyriakopoulos is a member of several notable organizations, including the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the European Society of Medical Oncology. He has received the Mark Debbie Attanasio Prostate Cancer Foundation Young Investigator Award for his contributions to cancer research. Additionally, he serves on the Kidney Cancer Guidelines Committee of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and is a member of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group's Genitourinary Committee. His current research is centered on clinical trials and chemotherapy agents for the treatment of prostate cancer.
