Dr. Christos Lazaridis

Biography

Christos Lazaridis is a neurointensivist at the University of Chicago, focusing on the care of critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients. His clinical research interests delve into neuromonitoring and management of traumatic brain injury, as well as the ethics of neurocritical care. He is dedicated to teaching fellows, residents, and medical students about general neuro-critical care. Dr. Lazaridis earned his MD from Pécs University Medical School in Hungary in 2001. He completed his residency at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School, followed by fellowship training in Neurocritical Care at Johns Hopkins University and specialized training in Neurotrauma Critical Care at Cambridge University. Subsequently, he obtained additional training in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr. Lazaridis has contributed significantly to research in brain oxygen optimization for severe traumatic brain injury and has been the clinical principal investigator for various NIH-funded studies.
