Biography

Chukwuebuka Ogwo's research focuses on preventive oral hygiene intervention applications of artificial intelligence (AI) to predict oral health conditions using large, diverse dental records. He leads efforts to expand the use of machine learning algorithms for predicting dental caries development and AI-powered tools in teledentistry. Ogwo joined Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) as an Assistant Professor of Dentistry and is the Director of the Master of Science in Oral Health Sciences program at Kornberg School of Dentistry, Temple University. He previously served as the director of the Biostatistics Core at Kornberg. Ogwo earned a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Nigeria in 2012, followed by a Master of Science in International Health (Epidemiology) from KIT Royal Tropical Institute at Vrije Universiteit in the Netherlands in 2017, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Western Illinois University in 2018. He completed his dental public health (DPH) residency in 2020 and earned a PhD in Oral Sciences (DPH) in 2021 from the University of Iowa. In addition to his PhD, he earned diplomas in biostatistics and college teaching from the University of Iowa.
