Biography

Chul Min Yeum is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He earned his Doctorate in Civil Environmental Engineering from Purdue University in 2016, following a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in the same field from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). His research interests are deeply rooted in innovative technologies aimed at enhancing infrastructure resilience and efficiency. His current research focuses on Smart Structures, Computer Vision, Mixed and Augmented Reality, Machine Learning, Robotics, Big Data, Nondestructive Testing, and Sensing Technologies. Yeum has been actively involved in various projects aimed at extending the lifespan of critical infrastructure through advanced technological applications. He is dedicated to mentoring graduate students and contributing to the academic community through teaching and research collaborations.
