Ann Huang completed undergraduate study in Materials Science Engineering with Honours at Imperial College London and earned a DPhil in Materials Science from the University of Oxford. She has worked as a Lecturer at King’s College London and has served as a Senior Lecturer and Reader (Associate Professor) focusing on Energy Storage Materials at Imperial College London. Her research interests encompass sustainable manufacturing technologies, energy devices such as lithium-ion batteries, solid-state batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and lithium-sulfur batteries, alongside new energy materials and operando X-ray correlative imaging. In recognition of her contributions to the field, she was awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry's Faraday Early Career Prize in March 2025. Ann is open to discussions with prospective students and researchers looking to join her research group. She offers a PhD scholarship with full funding and stipend available through a separate application. Her teaching includes courses on materials used for energy conversion and storage, where students gain a deep understanding of electrical properties and degradation issues related to electrochemical devices and batteries.
