Biography

Professor Chung K. Law received a B.S. in Physics from the University of Alberta in 1968, an M.A.Sc. in Aerospace Studies from the University of Toronto in 1970, and a Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from the University of California at San Diego in 1973. He joined Princeton University in 1988 as the Robert H. Goddard Professor of Mechanical Aerospace Engineering. His primary research interests encompass combustion, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, fuel chemistry, and propulsion energy applications. He leads a research group that studies various aspects of combustion phenomena, including aerodynamics, laminar and turbulent flames, and droplet combustion. Professor Law has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Curtis W. McGraw Research Award from ASEE in 1984 and multiple honors from AIAA and ASME. He is a Fellow of several professional societies, including AIAA, ASME, and APS, and is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.
