Chunxiao Hu received a Bachelor of Science in Automation from China in 2008, a Master of Science in Microsystem Technology from Southampton in 2009, and a PhD in Microfluidic Devices using Nematodes from Southampton in 2013. After completing his PhD, he worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, focusing on Nanowire/Nanoribbon ISFET biosensing. In 2016, he moved to the University of Glasgow as a Research Associate, collaborating on CMOS based biosensors within the James Watt School of Engineering. He was promoted to Research Fellow in 2021 and is now a Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering. His research interests lie in the development of miniaturised portable microsystem platforms utilizing advanced technologies in microfluidics and nanofabrication for biomedical applications. Current projects include highly integrated chemical sensors for early cancer diagnostics, CMOS based ISFET for antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and microfluidic devices for monitoring neurological diseases.
