Dr. Chyrell Bellamy

Biography

Chyrell D. Bellamy is a Professor at Yale University’s Department of Psychiatry and serves as the Director of the Yale Program Recovery Community Health (PRCH). With a robust background in community-based participatory research, she focuses on engaging communities of color and individuals living with psychiatric illnesses, substance use disorders, and various social challenges. Dr. Bellamy specializes in healthcare disparities and has developed culturally responsive interventions aimed at supporting the recovery process for marginalized populations. Her extensive experience includes training peer support specialists and conducting research on effective peer support models. Additionally, she has held leadership roles in various state initiatives revolving around mental health and addiction services.
