Dr. Cian Duffy

Biography

Cian Duffy is a Professor of English Studies at Lund University. His research focuses on aspects of intellectual life and cultural history in Britain and Europe during the late eighteenth century and the Romantic period. He is currently involved in editing the volume 'Cambridge Companion to Nordic Romanticism' alongside Robert W. Rix, further contributing to the discourse on Romantic literature. Duffy's recent publications include 'History of Six Weeks' Tour' (edited with Anna Mercer, Oxford, 2025), 'Cambridge Companion to the Romantic Sublime' (2023), and 'British Romanticism in Denmark' (Edinburgh, 2022). He serves on the boards of the John Andrén Foundation and the Olof Sager Foundation, and is a member of the Editorial Committee for Lund University Press. Duffy has a rich history of involvement in academic activities including organizing workshops and participating in conferences, contributing significantly to the fields of literature and philosophy in the context of nineteenth-century British culture.
