Biography

Ciprian Alecsandru is an Associate Professor in the Department of Building, Civil, and Environmental Engineering at Concordia University. He joined the department in 2006 and has since been actively involved in research and teaching. Prior to his position at Concordia, he earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University and worked as an Assistant Lecturer at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest's Transportation Faculty. His research interests focus on Traffic Operations Control, Traffic Simulation, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Connected Autonomous Vehicles, and applications of Artificial Intelligence in transportation. Alecsandru has led multiple research projects funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and MITACS, exploring themes such as sustainable transportation networks and traffic safety operations. Over the years, he has contributed to numerous scholarly publications and continues to be involved in conferences and workshops related to transportation engineering.
