Dr. Claes Entzenberg

Biography

Claes Entzenberg is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Uppsala University with a specialization in Aesthetics. His work takes a post-analytical perspective on a broad range of topics within aesthetics, including art, Bildung, metaphor, interpretation, and literary theory. He is particularly focused on the ontology of art and the phenomenon of resistance in art. He has also explored the literary works of Swedish author Stig Dagerman. Entzenberg's extensive research has contributed to the understanding of how meaning is constructed in art, emphasizing its significance. He has published several works, including edited volumes and essays that delve into various aspects of aesthetics and representation. As a visiting fellow, he has worked at prestigious institutions such as Columbia University and the University of Wales, contributing further to his academic profile. He earned his PhD in Aesthetics in 1998, and has held various academic positions at Uppsala University since then, including lecturer and assistant professor.
