ARC DECRA Fellow in the Fenner School of Environment and Society, Claire Foster studies the role of native and invasive herbivores in forest dynamics and bushfire recovery. She previously worked as a Research Fellow on an ARC Linkage Project examining how animals influence fire regimes. Foster has completed postdoctoral positions focused on biodiversity surrogates and fire ecology. In 2018, she was awarded the Endeavour Research Fellowship, which allowed her to conduct research at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Her PhD research explored the interactive effects of prescribed fire and herbivory on flora and fauna in eucalypt forest understories.
