Biography

Claire Hart is an Associate Professor in Social Personality Psychology at the University of Southampton. She completed her BSc in Psychology at the University of Southampton in 2000 and earned her PhD in Social Psychology from the same institution in 2005. Following her doctoral studies, Hart served as a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton from 2005 to 2009. She then became a Lecturer in Psychology at Southampton Solent University for a year before returning to the University of Southampton, where she has held various academic positions, including Lecturer and now Associate Professor since 2019. Her research is primarily focused on quantitative social and personality psychology, particularly narcissism and its dysfunction in interpersonal contexts. She has investigated topics such as gendered narcissism and bullying. Throughout her career, Hart has received several awards for her teaching, including the Blackboard VLE Award in 2022 and multiple Academic Awards from SUSU.
