Biography

Claire Scott is a Guest Instructor specializing in library services for youth and families. She believes that connecting patrons with books and programs ignites joy and opens pathways to lifelong library services. Claire is passionate about supporting future librarians in cultivating inclusive, justice-oriented, and responsive reference, collections, programming, and communities. She has hosted community-based events ranging from storytimes and pop-up libraries to fan conventions. In 2016, she was named Librarian of the Year by the Greater Seattle Romance Writers of America. Claire has worked as a librarian since 2006 in both Bay Area and Seattle public library systems as well as K-12 schools and is currently a Teacher Librarian at a public high school in Seattle.
