Dr. Clare Bankhead

Biography

Clare Bankhead is a professor within the Medical Sciences Division at the University of Oxford. She specializes in Epidemiology and Research Design, serving as a senior epidemiologist with a significant interest in research design and statistics. Her main research focuses include the use of large routine databases in digital health and medical research. Her areas of expertise encompass health service utilization, diagnosis and monitoring of chronic diseases, as well as cancer diagnosis. Bankhead has coordinated multiple modules such as Introduction to Study Design and Research Methods, Evidence-Based Health Care for MSc programmes, and contributes to harnessing Big Data to improve clinical care. She is also involved in MSc Applied Digital Health and co-ordinates the Evidence-Based Health Research Methods module for the Global Health Leadership MSc. Additionally, she supervises both full-time and part-time MSc and DPhil students and is a Fellow at Kellogg College, where she currently serves as Welfare Dean.
