Dr. Clare Huish

Biography

Clare Huish is a lecturer specializing in Public Health at the University of Manchester. With a focus on intercultural public health and implementation sciences, she plays a significant role in the Master of Public Health programme, leading courses on Cultural Competency and Implementation Sciences. Her academic background includes a Master of Public Health and a Doctor of Philosophy, both obtained at the University of Manchester. Clare has extensive experience in early years developmental movement and evidence-based health interventions, having delivered regional training across UK health education sectors. She has also served as an Intercultural Advisor for a pharmaceutical company, promoting public health education and intercultural communication strategies, particularly in response to the Syrian refugee crisis. Additionally, she volunteers with the Riding for the Disabled Association, supporting young people and their families. Clare is a Senior Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Higher Education and has received awards such as the Public Health England Award for her contributions to public health research and education. Her research interests lie in exploring intercultural issues within public health, employing qualitative and mixed methods with a particular emphasis on creative and arts-based methodologies to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and improve health outcomes across varying contexts.
