Dr. Clare Robinson

Biography

Clare Robinson is a Senior Lecturer in Ecology at the University of Manchester, with research interests focusing on soil ecology, biogeochemistry, and the microbial communities of arctic and antarctic soils. She has extensive experience in teaching and research, holding previous positions such as Lecturer at the University of Manchester and King's College London. Clare has made significant contributions to understanding the structure and function of fungal communities in peatlands, particularly in the context of climate change and human impact. She has coordinated numerous research projects, including those aimed at restoring degraded peatlands and investigating microbial function related to carbon loss. Clare's educational background includes a NERC CASE PhD from the University of Lancaster and a BSc with honors from the University of Exeter. She is actively involved in advising and mentoring students interested in microbial ecology and its application to sustainable agricultural practices.
