Biography

Clarisse de Vries is a Lecturer in Data Science at the School of Health and Wellbeing, University of Glasgow. She is dedicated to ensuring that artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare is safe and beneficial as part of the newly established Glasgow Lab for Health Data Science & AI (GLABDA). Her research leverages big data and novel data science methods, applying AI technologies to healthcare research aimed at improving healthcare delivery. Her work focuses on the development and testing of AI in breast screening to ensure its safe and effective implementation in hospitals. In April 2024, she received the Rising Star Award at the UK Advancing Healthcare Awards, recognizing her contributions to this emerging field.
