Claudia Blindauer is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Warwick. Her research interests focus on inorganic biochemistry, specifically the study of metal-binding proteins across various organisms including mammals, invertebrates, plants, and bacteria. The aim of her work is to contribute to the understanding of mechanisms underlying zinc homeostasis. Her research employs techniques such as recombinant protein expression and purification, multinuclear NMR, mass spectrometry, optical spectroscopies, multi-elemental analysis, chromatography, and metalloproteomics. Claudia has held several academic positions including Reader and Associate Professor at Warwick and has been a Royal Society Olga Kennard Research Fellow. She has also completed post-doctoral studies at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Basel. Currently, her research group is involved in projects examining plasma zinc speciation, zinc homeostasis regulation in marine cyanobacteria, and the impact of plant metallothioneins on edible seeds. She actively supervises PhD students and postdoctoral research associates, aiming to foster enthusiasm and support throughout their academic journeys.
Includes General, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Biomedical, and Manufacturing Engineering. Most programs fall under English Band A.
