Biography

Claudia M. Flores is a Clinical Professor of Law at Yale Law School, where she also serves as the Director of the Allard K. Lowenstein International Human Rights Clinic and co-director of the Orville H. Schell, Jr. Center for International Human Rights Education. In her role, she leads initiatives focused on humanitarian law, constitutional reform, and state accountability, while co-hosting a podcast titled 'Entitled,' which addresses global human rights issues. In addition to her academic achievements, she is a Special Expert for the United Nations Working Group on Discrimination Against Women and Girls, appointed in 2023. Before her tenure at Yale, Professor Flores directed the Global Human Rights Clinic at the University of Chicago Law School and had prior experience working with the ACLU’s Women’s Rights Project and UN Women. She earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2002, where she was a Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar, and her B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1997. Claudia Flores is recognized for her contributions to scholarship, advocacy, and legal practice in international human rights, enhancing both academic understanding and real-world applications of these vital areas.
