Claudia Sicondolfo lives and works as a guest in Tkaronto. She received her PhD in Cinema Media Studies from York University and held the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship from 2017 to 2021. Her research projects address the topics of film festivals, screen publics, youth digital media cultures, and decolonizing research methodologies that affect creative industries. Her dissertation examined curatorial modes of pedagogy, community outreach, and audience engagement in contemporary digital screen initiatives and film festivals in Canada. Claudia has published writing in various journals, including ESSACHES, Public Journal, and Senses Cinema, and has contributed to book anthologies. She has worked closely with educational communities in Canada and published educational companion curricula for documentaries. Prior to beginning her PhD, Claudia worked at the National Film Board of Canada for a decade.
