Dr. Claudia Tazreiter

Biography

Claudia Tazreiter is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the School of Social Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of New South Wales (UNSW). She is a political sociologist whose research focuses on contemporary human rights discourses, migration, the role of civil society, cosmopolitanism, and post-conflict reconciliation processes. Claudia has published extensively on migration, human rights, and asylum policies in Western states, as well as the role of non-governmental organizations in policy advocacy, particularly concerning women's rights in post-conflict settings. She is currently working on an Australian Research Council funded project addressing the human security of migrant workers in the Asia Pacific region. Claudia's research areas include contemporary human rights discourses, civil society and social movements, theories of migration and citizenship, transnationalism, and cosmopolitanism.
