Biography

Claudio Castellini is a full professor in medical robotics at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität, leading the Assistive Intelligent Robotics Lab. He focuses on rehabilitation assistive robotics, human-machine interfaces interaction, and applied machine learning. He obtained his degree in Biomedical Engineering in 1998 from the University of Genoa, Italy, and completed his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence at the School of Informatics of the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2005. Castellini has dedicated over four years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Advanced Robotics Laboratory of the University of Genoa and later became a senior researcher at the German Aerospace Centre. He has authored or co-authored 160 scientific papers and serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Neuroengineering and Rehabilitation, as well as engaging in multiple European and German research projects. Castellini contributes to the International Consortium of Rehabilitation Robotics, where he is a board member, and is involved in organizing and editing content for content related to rehabilitation robotics.
