Biography

Claudio Cuello is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at McGill University. He has extensive training and academic experience from prestigious institutions including the University of Buenos Aires, the University of California San Francisco, and the University of Cambridge. Dr. Cuello has held significant research positions, including roles at the Department of Cell Biology at UBA and the Department of Pharmacology at both Cambridge and Oxford. He served as Chair of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at McGill and currently holds the Charles E. Frosst Merck Chair. Additionally, he is an Associate Member of the Departments of Anatomy, Cell Biology, Neurology, and Neurosurgery at McGill University, and is an adjunct Professor at the Scripps Institute in La Jolla. His research focuses on neurological disorders, particularly the degenerative and regenerative processes in the central nervous system, with a special emphasis on aging and Alzheimer's disease. His lab utilizes and develops transgenic animal models to study Alzheimer's neuropathology and explores multidisciplinary approaches to Alzheimer’s therapeutics.
