Biography

Claus Lindbjerg Andersen leads a translational research program focused on gastrointestinal cancer, investigating the biological mechanisms underlying disease progression and treatment response. His research group is dedicated to the development of biomarkers for clinical implementation of liquid biopsy technologies, particularly circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA). He conducts prospective biobank studies and interventional trials aimed at identifying and validating biomarkers to guide personalized treatment decisions. His primary responsibilities include overseeing research, mentoring Bachelor, Master, and PhD students, and managing research projects in collaboration with national and international partners. He is the principal investigator on national clinical trials and participates in large European research projects funded by the EU, including the GUIDE.MRD.
