Biography

Clem Davis is a retired meteorologist with a distinguished career spanning over 33 years at the Bureau of Meteorology. He completed the Bureau's meteorologist course in 1972 and has worked extensively in Perth, Darwin, and Canberra, specializing in public weather, aviation, marine, and severe weather climate services. He held the position of Officer in Charge at the Canberra Meteorological Office during a critical time, including managing responses during the Canberra bushfires on January 17, 2003. Since his retirement in 2005, he has served as a Visiting Fellow at the Fenner School of Environment and Society and has contributed as an Honorary Lecturer where he focuses on research related to climate change and its impacts locally and regionally in Australia. Davis holds a Bachelor of Science degree from La Trobe University and an Honours Bachelor of Science from Flinders University, as well as a Diploma in Meteorology from the Bureau of Meteorology. He has actively engaged in various research projects that enhance the understanding of climate variability and improve information dissemination on climate impacts.
